Celeste left a message with thinly veiled threats to our safety and well being if we didn't post something to this blog.... Hopefully our hard-drive data and our left socks will now be safe from any harm...

If I understand the technology of Blogs right I am supposed to share unfounded rumors about things and / or some ongoing record of my personal opinions. I will probably just start by saying what is happening with our family so we can all enjoy the rumors that much better.

I am getting fired on Friday. That is exciting. I am kind of looking forward to it even if it is quite scary at the same time. I still haven't found that perfect job in IBM that I was hoping for now that I am back so I have been waiting to be fired so I can properly look outside of IBM. They finally gave me 30 days to look and that ends on Friday. They will give me a few months wages as a severance so I can look for a new job. That's really nice of them. In some ways I am getting fired and feeling guilty about it. IBM has been good to me and yet I am looking forward to looking around outside.

I actually have a division that IBM sold off that would really like me to join them - their printing area - it's now a subsidiary of IBM called "Infoprint" and they would like me to join their services area. It looks really interesting and probably fun, but I am kind of looking for some AI stuff - and if I work there I have to pay back the severance pay I didn't use. So... if nothing else I'll take a month to look for something else and have a vacation. =) But, we are searching now and may even have to look at moving. An adventure for sure.

I have a lot more I could say about that but then I would have nothing left to blog for the coming week and I might get threatened again.

The family is doing good. We still have boxes everywhere and lots of messes to work on. I'll save some of those adventures for another post. Then I get get bonus points.
